Log Changes

No log changes this week.  We did make adjustments to the template.  I am also trying to weed out all the extra promos that we are airing.  As of today, we still have at least three promos being scheduled by sales people.  We also have other times that we have promos coming up back to back.  I hope to have that problem solved in the next couple of days.

Board-Operators

Weekday Board Operators turned in their weekly features.  I began working on the staff evaluations. (I believe I just have two evaluations this time).

Production

I did the typical production for the week; promos and the Public Affairs Program.  I also board-oped a pre-recorded weekend program (News Radio Magazine) along with a post State of the Union show, with the folks from Republican Radio, and I reviewed the Board Ops feature demos.

Weekend Programming

I turned in a proposal for getting Mike Siegel on the air as Local Afternoon Weekend show.  The proposal will bring both revenue and ratings to the station overall.  It is all doable.  However, we are beginning to loose any advantage that we may have by having a locally politically active show.  With KTTH just being purchased, I am told their first objective is to put on a local afternoon show where Michael Savage now is.  It would be nice for us to be able to do something before that happens.  I am also still waiting to receive feed-back / rejection / approval ... on my weekend line-up proposals.  I am currently operating in an emergency mode, since we no longer have the WOR shows we are filling in with other ("best of" weekdays) programs where needed.

Promotions

The Phones are now working ... so we are just waiting for the "counter tents" to come back from the printers.  That means we are on schedule to begin our "Listen at Work" promotion at the start of February.  I have begun to actively start planning the "KOL Class Reunion" event.  We have been getting a lot of response from the former DJs of KOL, who are looking forward to the event.  Since the 23rd of May is in the middle of the week, we should consider the weekend before, (May 19-20) for the date of the event.  We are in need of a venue.  I went to the Sheridan and got the contact information for the person in charge of such things.
