KOL AM, 1300 kHz, first went on the air on the May 23rd, 1922. It was owned by Seattle Broadcasting Company and was one of Seattle’s first radio stations. 

 

One of KOL's first employees was organist Don Isham

 

The station was a CBS affiliate till the late 1930's.  On August 19th, 1939 KOL broadcasts a live coast-to-coast remote show from the Skagit River hydro-electric project.
